Health

When living the life you dream of, one of the most important things to take care of is your health. Many people get caught up in trying to make money, or trying to travel the world. The one thing they neglect is their health. This means having good sleep habits, good eating habits, and a good work out habit. You don’t need to be a nutrition nut or a gym rat, but you do need to consider your health so that you have a better and longer lifestyle physically.

You will see 1) how to track you food intake the easy way, get sufficient calories, and plan to eat in such a way as to meet your personal goals 2) how to track sleep and good practices to help you fall asleep when needed, stay asleep and wake up feeling recharged 3) and finally, different means of exercise to get you in a routine of keeping up your physical health.

Below is a summary of the tools I use when keeping track of my health. Be sure to check out all the tabs for a in depth analysis of each sectors.

Taking care of ourselves is key to everything. After all, without our health, what kind of life would we have? While many people ignore this area of their life as planning for success, it is one of the most important things we can think of.

What kind of health goals have you made for yourself? Have you made any? Do you fall short of them? perhaps you try and seem to get nowhere with results. Whether you are trying to lose weight, gain weight, gain muscle or just remain healthy, there are multitudes of programs out there designed to help you reach your goals. The first key step is to decide what you want, and make a plan to get it in a certain amount of time.

There are several apps on your smart phone that are super easy to down load and easy to follow. Look at it like a game. Set your goal, meet the daily requirements, track your results. You may think I don’t want to track calories, carbs, update weight every day etc. but this also may be holding you back. By doing the apps, you learn what food is good for your specific needs and how much. Think of it like a budget; it doesn’t mean doing without, it simply means deciding what are the best moves to help you reach your goals.

Here are some cool apps that I use to track my nutritional goals, exercise goals, and even sleep goals.

  • Life sum
    • This is a great app that allows you to keep up with your nutritional intake for each meal and as a whole. You start by setting up what you want to achieve (gain or lose weight, gain muscle, how often do you move for your job etc.) after you set up a plan, you can track your amount of water intake, calories, carbs, proteins, fats etc.
    • You will be able to save recipes and favorite foods in your diary. It also allows you to scan bar codes to give accurate information. If you use a smartwatch, the information is that much more effective. Daily reminders are also helpful in getting you to stay on track.
    • This app is free and has an in app purchase, but for most people, especially starting off, the free version is more than enough to get you on your way.

  • Activity
    • This is a free app on i phones. It tracks your results using rings. Three rings for three different areas of work out. It will track how much you move as in your steps, how much exercise you get, and and keep up with how often you stand. If you have a job where you sit a lot, it will remind you to stand for a few minutes. It is good to keep track of how active you are and remind you to move.

  • Auto sleep
    • This is an app that is helpful to make sure you are not only getting enough sleep, but making sure that your sleep is actually doing good for your body. This app does cost about $3 one time, but to me it is worth it for my health. It asks what your target amount of sleep is. Some people need more than others. The visuals give you an idea of how restful your sleep is. It breaks it down into four categories; how long you sleep, your quality sleep hours, deep sleep hours and your average bpm while sleeping. You can also see how long it took you to fall asleep, and keep a log of how you slept in a calendar.
